It starts in Detroit.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Here is where I began to explore Afrofuturism, storytelling, design, painting, and nature. In 2019, I started designing community spaces using Afro-urbanism and urban agriculture. This method allows me to preserve stories, experiment with ancestral design concepts, and call Black People back to nature-based practices that cultivate community and challenge systems that bind us. As I’ve grown as a painter and collage artist, I’ve blended my interests into projects representing my experiences in Black Detroit and my life as a community caregiver.
